Crickentree was formerly home to The Golf Club of South Carolina at Crickentree. The neighborhood previously featured an 18-hole golf course built into the rolling natural landscape, though the course closed in 2018.

Even after the closure of the golf course, Crickentree remains one of Blythewood’s most recognizable established communities with a strong residential identity.
