Zoning Regulations | Columbia SC Area
The Zoning Regulation is a tool used by a county or local government to restrict the use of property. Although "Restrict" is commonly dressed up with the term "Controlled Growth", to me it means the same. These regulations are different from "Restrictive Covenants" which are placed on a property by the land owner, previous land owner, or developer. Zoning Regulations are usually buried deep into the county website. I constantly have to search through their websites looking for a specific use of a property. So, as a shortcut I thought that I'd post and continue to update the Zoning Regulations for different counties around the Midlands of South Carolina. If you happen to know of an updated or new link, please post it below by submitting a comment. Hopefully this will be useful for anyone searching for real estate in Columbia SC. Although I can not guarantee that these links will always be up to date I can at least help get you on the right track. Thanks for visiting!
While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the County's "Land Development Code" (Chapter 26 of the Code of Ordinances of Richland County) on this web site, it is not official, and the county employees and agents preparing this web site and the County Council are not responsible for any errors or omissions which may occur on this site. Only the current ordinances that are on file with the Clerk of County Council can be relied on as the official version(s) of the Land Development Code.
