It’s tucked away and isn’t a simple drive to anywhere, but more convenient to I-26 if you’re heading to Greenville SC from Columbia. Chapin definitely has it’s own identity now and is not completely dependent on Columbia’s economy. is located in Camden SC. It’s a private course that is well managed and probably one of the best courses in the Columbia area. It’s about 45 minutes from Columbia as you travel on I-20 past The Columbia NE through Elgin and Lugoff. Camden is still hanging on to its rural appeal, but many homebuyers find it as a good compromise to both Shaw AFB and Fort Jackson. This country club is located next to the Springdale Racetrack in horse country. Homes can be found on the golf course and in surrounding areas. Many are older custom built homes on large lots. Camden also can stand alone without depending on Columbia’s economy, but you will find a lot of short distance commuters living here. Homes vary in price.
