Property of the Week - Week 12

2.79 Acres Waterfront | Waterfront Property

Waterfront Property for sale is in high demand in the summer months in Columbia SC.  Columbia's new "Famously Hot" PR campaign has come to truth along with the blistering heat and the high humidity.  There is no doubt that most homebuyers and land developers are attracted to lakes, ponds, and riverfront real estate. Lake Murray, Lake Wateree and Lake Monticello are the largest lakes in the Columbia SC real estate market, but lets not forget about the smaller lakes and ponds that have been giving homeowners an evening in the rocking chair or hammock in their back yard for years on end.  When searching through waterfront property with our free MLS search, it is important to weigh your options and know exactly what you are looking for.  Make a list so that you will know how to break down your necessities to the simplest level before you even begin looking.  This should help you distinguish between your needs and wants.

Many real estate investors use waterfront lots as a functional investment.  Unlike the stock market, Waterfront Properties for sale provide a tangible investment.  I've personally always loved being able to access thousands of acres of boating, fishing and recreation while potentially earning equity on my relatively small investment.  If you think that waterfront real estate is out of your realm...then think again.  There are several neighborhoods in Columbia, Blythewood, and the Midlands Area that can give you the views and enjoyment as the larger lakes can, but on a smaller scale of investment.

This brings us to our property of the week, which is a 2.79 acre wooded lot on about a 2-acre pond for under $50,000.  This is an excellent investment opportunity for anyone looking for real estate in the Blythewood SC area.  Cedar Lakes has become a hidden jewel and has remained as a solid investment for many residents and landowners.  Although appreciation has never been off the charts, depreciation hasn't either.  Even in a struggling economy, real estate has not seen a large fluctuation in value in Cedar Lakes.  You may find a more informative article on our Cedar Lakes page.
