Cottontown Columbia SC
Historic Cottontown is a neighborhood in the heart of downtown Columbia filled with bungalows and traditional historic homes. Cottontown is flanked by Bull Street, N. Main, and Elmwood Avenue. It’s close to just about everything and is located seconds from Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, the University of South Carolina, and most of the government buildings in downtown Columbia SC. It's the first neighborhood that you see when traveling into the City of Columbia from I-277(which turns into Bull Street). The streets that run through Cottontown are lightly traveled and flanked by mature hardwood trees. Confederate Street may be the most traveled street and it divides the neighborhood in half. But once you venture off of Confederate street you won't notice much traffic. Many of the homes for sale in Cottontown have been renovated and brought to modern standards. It's truly a great neighborhood and well worth a visit if you are sifting through the best neighborhoods in Columbia SC.
