Forest Lake Estates, Columbia SC Real Estate

Centrally located, Forest Lake Estates is an established in the City of Forest Acres.  Forest Lake Estates (AKA Forest Lake Neighborhood) is located off of Forest Drive, close to Fort Jackson, and I-77. Access to Forest Lake Estates can be made from Forest Drive, Trenholm Road, Decker Blvd or Percival Road. Home sizes are vast ad vary from 1,000 square feet to 6,000 square feet with 2020 prices varying between $100,000-$1,000,000. Stability in homeownership and popularity is reinforced by having homes for sale near Fort Jackson’s main gate, The VA Hospital, and The University of South Carolina.

Most of the homes in Forest Lake Estates area were built in the architectural style of traditional brick homes from the mid-twentieth century(AKA Mid Century Modern)   You will also find a variety of split-level floor plans that were popular in this era.  Split level homes commonly have a main living area on the entry-level, with the bedrooms split by ½ staircase ascending and descending to different levels.  You will also find traditional 4 bedroom and 3 bedroom/2 bath homes that have evolved through the years and a common search for real estate buyers.  The property in the Forest Lake Estates subdivision features rolling topography and is split by several lakes along Rockbridge Road and large mature pine and hardwood trees line the streets of well-manicured lawns.  Most of the homes for sale in Forest Lake Estates are on approximately 1/2 acre parcels.

There isn't a distinctive border between Sandwood Hills, Rockbridge, Forest Lake and Forest Acres neighborhoods... but many also refer to this area as "Dentsville", which is composed of subsections like Forest Acres, Forest Lake, Arcadia Lakes, and Windsor Shores.

Nightlife, Restaurants, Hospitals, The State House, Riverbanks Zoo, and The Columbia Museum of Art are located in The Vista and Downtown Columbia districts, which is also quickly accessible from Forest Lake Estates and The City of Forest Acres.
