Is Irmo, SC a good place to live?

Irmo is another section of Columbia that is primarily in the northwest region of the city but it is never referred to as, “the Columbia Northwest”. Irmo is also a township(the Town of Irmo) and generally speaking refers to the area around Harbison Boulevard, Saint Andrews Road, Dutch Fork,  and Lake Murray.  Commuters that travel regularly from Columbia to the Upstate (Greenville/Spartanburg) also understand the convenience of living in the Irmo area.  Irmo attracts the same type of homebuyer that would buy in Lexington County. They both favor Lake Murray, but Irmo is on one side of the dam, and Lexington is on the other.   It’s an easy commute into the City of Columbia on I-26 then straight onto I-126.  I-126 runs right into Elmwood Drive which will send you right into the new development on Bull Street (Segra Baseball Park where the Columbia Fireflies play).  Or you can turn off Elmwood to Main Street District (which will take you to the SC State House).  We love Irmo.  It’s a great place to live.  Here is a link to some of the best neighborhoods in Irmo SC.
