Ashley Oaks is a neighborhood that was developed in the late 1980's or early nineties. There are several phases in this ongoing Blythewood neighborhood and it appears that Crown Communities has decided to build several new homes in Ashley Oaks as a part of their ongoing search for new neighborhoods in the Columbia Northeast. This may provide some relief for local builders that have decided to move on to other projects as the great real estate recession hit the Columbia SC Real Estate market between 2006 and 2010. As recovery happens you can count on this area growing. Westwood High School will begin classes in 2012 and competitive building projects are back in the swing.
