Blythewood South Carolina (commonly misspelled Blythwood) has become a popular location for real estate agents, investors and buyers since the beginning of the millennium. Blythewood is a highly desired area for most homebuyers looking for a little extra land for sale with their estate. The drive into the City of Columbia from Blythewood is just a few minutes on I-77 South. Most of Blythewood is located within Richland County, although there is some overflow into Fairfield County. The main differences between the counties are the school districts. Richland county schools are constantly improving and new construction of elementary, intermediate and high schools are constantly in ongoing in Richland County. Blythewood High School is the newest of the 4 high schools that are within the district as of 2009. The newly built Blythewood High School has already had great publicity for the way that the students were involved in the construction and design, and it continues to have a good athletic and academic system. Inversely, Fairfield County has had very little development in the school system. Fairfield Central High School has stood alone as "the" high school for the entire county for decades. Both of the counties have a good relationship with each other. What Fairfield County may lack in educational funding, it makes up for in beauty and availability of larger tracts of land and acreage.
